Here at Active Wellness our treatment is primarily performed through manual therapy, patient education, and corrective exercise. Our approach focuses on impacting the nervous system first. We believe this is crucial because the nervous system and the brain control how you move; furthermore, they both have an influence on how you feel pain. When we impact the brain and nervous system during treatment, we can improve many things simultaneously. The second step is to treat the muscular system. The muscular system must be in perfect balance or there will be excess strain on your normal body movements. These stressful movements will eventually begin to impact the health of the joints. Quite often there is a need to treat the joints directly. We affect joint health in several ways: manually or assisted with dry needling, ultrasound and/or specific nutritional supplementation. The manual component of our therapy consists of using a hands on approach to improve the nerve, muscle or joint function through very conservative and safe techniques.
