About Dr. Bowman
Dr. Gary Bowman was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. After his freshman year in High school, he began to travel throughout the Midwest playing ice hockey at various levels. He graduated from State University of New York at Oswego after four years of varsity ice hockey with a Bachelor’s degree in Wellness Management and Health Science.
He received his doctorate of Chiropractic in 2009 from Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport, IA). Dr. Gary completed a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Sports Science where he has focused his studies on Nutrition and Human Performance. He graduated in 2014 from Logan University (St. Louis, MO) and has continued to pursue excellence in nutrition and human performance by training with world-renowned coaches, such as the Prague School of Rehabilitation in the Czech Republic, Precision Nutrition out of Toronto, Canada, and the Strong First School of Strength. In addition to patient care at Active Wellness, he is the director of the Active Wellness Performance Lab and serves as head Strength Coach for the Iowa Wild, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild. Here he works with team’s coaching and medical staff to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance.
Dr. Bowman enjoys spending free time with his wife and two children. He continues to play recreational hockey as well as spends his summers playing golf and fishing.
